Art Studio Chalkboard is a resource for artists and art students that focuses on "the technical fundamentals of perspective, shading, color and painting." These useful resources were compiled by faculty member Ralph Larmann at the University of Evansville Art Department.

What a terrific collection; so informative.

For instance, did you know that the primary colors have been updated? This is old news for visual artists, I'm sure. But I was shocked to discover the following:

"There have been some updates in the traditional primary/secondary color wheel. Painters have learned that red, yellow, and blue are the primary colors. But because of research in the area of color we find that the true primary colors, those that are the basis for all others and cannot be made from mixed color, are magenta, yellow and cyan."

Of course, I have been telling children for years that the primary colors are red, blue and yellow. I don't even know what "cyan" is supposed to be.

Make it like it was.
